Aaliyah Dana Haaughton gained fame after releasing her first album Age Ain't Nothing More Than an Number in 1994. When she was just 15 years old, the album earned Gold recognition. R. Kelly was a significant influence in this project which brought her into the limelight. In 1996 she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri as well as Timbaland for her album, One In A Million, featuring the number one hit track If Your Girl Only knew. Aaliyah was a well-known R&B vocalist after the release. In 2000 she starred in the romantic action film Romeo Must Die alongside martial arts legend Jet-Li. The role was offered to her after being spotted by director Joel Silver at an awards show. In 2002, she appeared in the vampire film Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. She then got into the Matrix with her role as Zee as Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also been on The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 and The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. Although her early career was filled with minor movie and TV performances, she rose to greater notoriety in the late 2000s. Apart from The Big Bang Theory her other most acclaimed works include Leverage (2012) Suits (2013) as well as Grey's Anatomy (2017). In addition, she has appeared in commercials of major brands like international car manufacturer Volvo. The mother of her daughter is a resident of Los Angeles and is pursuing acting.
